Five essentials for staying productive & focused

Hello everyone!

Sometimes it’s hard to stay focused on our work; whether it's our job, school, or even blogging.  This is why I decided to share my tips on how I personally stay focused and get things done.  Here are my 5 essentials for staying productive & focused!

1. To-Do list
Every night, before bedtime, create a to-do list with a set of things you need to complete.  Most of the time, it is actually easier to do things when you know what you need to do.  Don’t try to tackle too many tasks in one day.  You’ll feel very satisfied when you see everything checked off at the end of the day.

Also, if one of the items on your to-do list is getting your small business off the ground, check out Kabbage.com.  It's the world’s fastest and easiest way to get funds to grow your business.  Kabbage prides themselves on helping entrepreneurs who are striving to achieve their goals by providing small business loans For additional information visit their website.

2. No multitasking
Now that you have a To-Do list, get the most important tasks done first.  Multitasking can make you feel that you actually accomplish more,  however  experience has taught me that prioritising items is better.  If you really need to concentrate on something, you must give it your undivided attention.

3. Music
Put on your headphones and listen to music that helps you focus.  I find I work best while listening to music; if it’s too noisy or too quiet, my mind tends to wonder and I get distracted.

4. Stay off social media
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest; they all can be pretty addictive.  Try not to log in to social media while you are working, unless you have to update an online profile/page as part of your job.  If you want to check social media sites on your break,  do not linger more than 10 minutes.

5. Take a break
Just getting away for awhile and focusing on something else can be beneficial.  Take a 10 to 15 minute break every two hours and give your mind a break.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that some of my tips help you stay focused.  Let me know in the comment section below what you do to stay focused; I’m always looking for things to help me be more productive.
